3. When criticized by others, I shall lighten up.
DEPARTING: Gather up our things, straighten up. Coming back to a neatened up home is nice. Love up the dog, the cat, or the significant other and lock up the house. Warm up the car and gather up thoughts before tearing up the street/road. Fasten up the seat belt, look up in the rear view mirror. SLOW UP! Let’s give up doing touch ups on our makeup. We’ll use mirror only to size up traffic. Deal?
PARKING: Offer up a close parking spot for someone needier, and park up the lot at a store or job a little farther, so we can add up more steps each day.
CONVERSING: Pass up the opportunity to one-up others’ stories. Think up questions to ask. Listen up to learn something. Let the other person be the batter up!
TOLERANCE: We won’t blow up when people fire us up, even though they’ve messed up or given up. We’ll use a grown up response and encourage them to fess up when they’ve goofed up, and to step their game up.
SPACE & CREATIVITY: Free up enough time to read up on anything that perks our interest up. Take up something new. Get up to date with a new TV series. Upload a book; download a game. Look up a new word. Take up a new language. Shake up your habits. Turn up the music. Send up a prayer. Stand up to your fears. Start up a new adventure. Fire up your spirit. Laugh down to your toes and up to your eyeballs!
